11月25・29日に、国立信州高遠青少年自然の家が主催する平成28年度ASEAN加盟国中学生招致事業の一環として、高遠中学校ではミャンマーの中学生と交流を行いました。ASEAN交流実行委員会が中心となり準備を進めてきたこの交流は、25日に全校でお出迎えをし、剣道部の部活体験をしました。この日の給食はミャンマーの食事が出され、モヒンガーという麺料理をいただきました。

29日には、午前中から高遠中学校で交流を行いました。和太鼓や給食、清掃体験のほか、全体交流では合唱を披露したり、ミャンマーの民族舞踊を一緒に踊ったりしました。1学年と一緒に行ったイス取りゲームでは、ミャンマーのやさしい国民性が出たのか、「イス“ゆずりあい”ゲーム」になってしまいました。

本校のASEAN交流は本年度で3年目を迎えました。生徒の意識が変わってきたことを感じます。ASEANの中学生にふれあい、「この人ともっと話したい」という気持ちから英語をがんばろうとしたり、分からない言葉があっても身振り手振りや表情で伝えようとしたり、今まで気にかけなかった外国のニュースに関心を持つようになる姿が見られます。また、「日本はこんなところがいいところだね」と言ってもらうことで、今まで当たり前すぎて意識しなかったことに気付かされ、自分たちの国や文化の再発見にもつながっています。

交流すること自体が、高中生にすばらしい影響を及ぼしてくれました。今年の交流も笑顔があふれました。

Takato junior high school welcomed and intaracted with our Myanmar friends

We interacted with the Myanmar students on the 25th and 29th Nov. The interaction committee for ASEAN had prepared for this weeks before, then all of us welcomed them on 25th. For school lunch we ate Mohinga, a Myanmar popular noodle dish. In the afternoon, Myanmar students joined the Kendo activity.

On 29th, we interacted with each other at our school. Playing Japanese drums, eating lunch and cleaning were only a part of the activities we enjoyed together. We sang a regional song, danced, and in addition to this, the Myanmar students played musical chairs with the 1^st grade students and showed extreme kindness while enjoying this game.

It has been 3 years since we started interaction with ASEAN students. Thanks to this exchange our students’ awareness has changed. Some students study English very hard because they want to talk with their foreign friends more. If they didn’t know any words, they tried to communicate with ASEAN friends by using gestures and facial expressions. Some of our students became interested in foreign news. ASEAN students pointed out some good sides of Japan, so we rediscovered our virtues.

Interaction with ASEAN students has had a good influence on us. This year too, we shared precious moments full of happiness and smiles.
